The only reason why anyone would consider dating someone is if they are thinking about the possibility of a long-term relationship with that person. If that person is a non-Christian then we would wonder why someone who is a committed Christian would consider this in the first place. The Bible teaches that ultimately we have nothing fundamentally in common with non-Christians. Their outlook on life is from a worldly point of view and they have no real faith.

Of course many people would say that their poor experiences in finding a partner in Church have led them to consider looking to non-Christians.
